Can I choose my hours and days of the week to volunteer?
You can provide us with the days and times that you are available to volunteer, and we will do our best to match you with opportunities available.
What are the types of things that I can volunteer for?
Volunteer opportunities include providing free tax assistance in different locations throughout El Paso, providing meals during our monthly food-pantry drives, filling backpacks with supplies for back-to-school events, wrapping Christmas presents for children, and other community events that arise.
Can my children volunteer?
Children ages 13 and over can volunteer at certain events as long as a parent or guardian also volunteers at the same event.
Is there a certification needed to volunteer for tax-preparation help with VITA?
Yes, certain certifications are required to volunteer with VITA depending on your volunteer role. Resources for certification will be provided.
